About the Downtown Business Improvement Area

Trenton Downtown Business Improvement Area is designated under a special municipal by-law (passed November 6, 1976) and legislated by the province of Ontario.  It is designed to be a self-help mechanism that provides the tools and resources necessary to promote and beautify the area (see map).  Funding for the projects within the area is by way of a special levy to the property tax paid by every owner of property designated as industrial or commercial within the boundaries of the BIA.  The mandate of BIA's is to "improve, beautify and maintain public lands and buildings with the BIA, beyond that which is provided by the municipality at large, and to promote the area as a business and shopping area."

"Neighbours Serving Neighbours with Pride"

Trenton DBIA Mission

Our Mission is to build and maintain a strong business area for the community of Quinte West, and promote the downtown core so that our local businesses thrive and prosper.

We do this through promotional programs, by beautifying the downtown area with upgrades to light fixtures, outdoor furnishings and streetscaping, by being a liaison with the Mayor, City of Quinte West Council, and tourist organizations, and by sponsoring and organizing special events that bring people downtown and keep their interest in this friendly business community by the water.

We also publish a newsletter once a month and serve as a source of information for all of our members and potential downtown business owners.
