MEET OUR MAYOR

John R. Williams
Following our election in November 2006, Council Members agreed that there were a number of priority items which required attention and many of these have now been completed. The downtown Trenton "streetscape" project helped to re-energize our downtown core, making it more attractive for our citizens and visitors. In Frankford upgrades were made to the Tourist Park, which was a welcome addition over the summer months. Phase 1 of the Montrose Stormwater Drainage
Improvement Plan was completed and the final phase is currently underway. The Batawa water and sewer infrastructure project is now complete.
Economic Development and Physician Recruitment continue to be a priority. We are pleased to have signed three new doctors.
The YMCA of the City of Quinte West is now open. This is a 50,000 sq. ft. recreation and aquatics centre which includes a 25 meter 6 lane pool with therapeutic warm water pool. It is a welcome addition to our community.
As Mayor, I know how important it is to work together with Members of Council, local industry and business, as well as service groups and the people in our community. I extend my personal thanks to the people who contribute their time to serve on the various City Boards and Committees, and the many dedicated volunteers who assist with our festivals and community events. These are the people who make our City a great place to live!
