FINANCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES
Financial Services is responsible for
performing the statutory duties of the Treasurer for the City and for providing
advice on fiscal, financial and accounting matters to the Chief Administrative
Officer and Council on all statutory, operational and custodial matters
affecting the finances of the City.
These duties include providing sound management of the City's
financial assets and operations and to ensure the formulation and administration
of the annual operating and capital budgets in conjunction with Council, the
Chief Administrative Officer and the Department Directors.
The Tax services branch of the Department is responsible for the
management and control of billing and collection of property taxes and levies
for the City and other agencies and Ministries
