Construction Activity in Quinte West
The City of Quinte West had a record year of construction in 2008 with over $79.6 million in construction value and $511,000 in building permit fees. The City had 153 new single detached housing starts in 2008, which has been the annual average during the first 11 years of Quinte West.
Since amalgamation in 1998, the City of Quinte West has seen 1,749 new single detached housing starts and a total construction value of $541.5 million dollars. In comparison to the three years prior to amalgamation (1995 – 1997) during the past 11 years, the City has averaged 33.2% more building permits, 38.7% more single residential units and 143.3% more construction value.
