PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Trent River

The City of Quinte West Planning and Development Services Department, located in the City Hall, is responsible for the review, processing and approval of all municipal planning applications (ie. Official Plan Amendments, Plan of Subdivisions, Zoning By-law Amendments, Consents, Minor Variances, Site Plan Control, etc.). The City is approximately 504 square kilometres in size and the four wards have been divided into three planning areas - Trenton, Sidney and Murray-Frankford. The Planners who handle all inquiries and applications for each area are listed below. Any questions regarding the consent or minor variance processes should be directed to Mrs. Anne-Marie Cunningham.

The City's new Official Plan was approved by the Province on October 29, 2001. Copies of this document are available on CD or paper form for $60.00 + GST. The City is currently preparing Phase 2 of the Quinte West Official Plan Program which will guide the development of the City's urban centres.

The Building Department is located in the second floor of the City Hall with Mr. Ron Wardhaugh as Chief Building Official (CBO). The same planning areas are used by the CBO to divide the responsibilities related to the Building Department (please see listing below).
