PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
 Public Works
and Environmental Services is responsible for the effective and efficient planning, engineering, maintenance, rehabilitation and operation of the municipal road system, solid waste management services, water and sanitary services, stormwater management, general engineering services etc. Under the leadership of a 13 member Council and 9 member Public Works Committee, we provide a mix of urban, semi-urban and rural services to a population of over 42,800 residents.
Public Works
& Environmental Services is also responsible for water treatment and distribution in Trenton, Consecon/Carrying Place, Bayside (South Sidney), Glen Miller, Batawa and Frankford and sewage collection and treatment in Trenton, Batawa and Frankford. As well, the Public Works are responsible for waste management in the Frankford Ward while overseeing Waste Management
contracts in the Murray, Sidney and Trenton Wards.
 Public Works & Environmental Services has an annual transportation budget of approximately $8 million and an annual water/sewer budget of $12.5 million. The City of Quinte West comprises some 750 kms of roads. There are approximately 44 bridges, 10 culverts of span 3.0 m or greater and 16 railway level crossings. Included in the total road measure are 12.55 kms of boundary roads.
